The CIA was established by the National Security Act of 1947 as an independent agency, being charged with coordinating the U.S. intelligence activities, as well as evaluating and disseminating intelligence affecting national security. The CIA, the first line of defense, manages to accomplish what others cannot and go where others cannot. Briefly, they collect information that reveals potential threats, plans and capabilities of their adversaries, providing thus the basis for decision making and actions.

Customer satisfaction with flyingNowadays it has become more and more difficult to enjoy a simple flying experience. And this is due to the fact that not only the huge number of people using this means of transportation makes it more difficult to bear, but also due to the fact that airlines have an outstanding number of fees. In a ranking system used by the American Customer Satisfaction Index, American Airlines received a not so good score: only 69 out of 100 points available.

When managing an organization as large and as complex as the FBI, it’s not enough to have only a defined mission and a set of priorities. In order to turn it into an intelligence-driven, threat-based entity, a definitive strategy is required. After the 9/11 attacks, the FBI Director, Robert Mueller, published a list of priorities, which clearly showed that the Bureau’s intention to fight terrorism was the main priority. But the list was not enough for a long-term organizational change; therefore, a new strategy was needed.

Top Universities 2013 - by reputation

Recently, we have posted a top containing the best universities in the world for the academic year 2012-2013. The universities were chosen in terms of academic performance, research, innovation degree and staff, a very complex process involving performance indicators being set in place. I figured I would post an update of the top, given the fact that another year has passed and that the data have been collected. However, the top did not change that much, except the fact that Harvard got its leading position back. So, I decided to post a top of universities … by reputation. But what would be the difference between these two tops? Isn’t reputation a “sum-up word” for those mentioned above?
