Strategies for Developing Leadership Pipelines for High Performance
Deepak Gupta, Managing Director – Middle East at PDI Ninth House moderated a panel discussion with focus on leadership development as part of the second day of the HR Summit and Expo 2012.
Some of the key discussion points included:
- Talent Management is at the beginning in terms of integration; the next big step is collecting information and communicating it to leaders; this is of special importance since quality information is essential;
- The panelists gave examples of actions taken in their organization for the purpose of fostering leadership development; one such examples is discussing talent management and regularly including in on meeting agendas; another example is identifying pattern in talent management – for instance, ING has a domestic to international pattern;
- Creating the appropriate culture and developing managers as a leaders and coaches is also of high importance;
- One of the panelists emphasized the importance of approaching leadership development based on talent needs;
