Snapchat enters the online-video supremacy battle
The number of views per day metric registered by the Snapchat app users, which reached 8 billion, has equaled that of Facebook’s users, thus reaching the top 3 pages that users go to during their day.
Snapchat CEO, Evan Spiegel, said that the current numbers are 5 times higher than those registered during the same period of last year.
However, the 2 apps function differently as Facebook automatically plays videos while Snapchat requires the user to tap on the item in order to play it. Both of them are registered as number of views per day.
Facebook reported the same landmark reached in November, 2015. Youtube, on the other hand, maintains its leader position with reportedly billions of views and hundred of millions of hours generated each day.
