Balanced Scorecard & Strategy Summit 2013 – Day 2 of The Kaplan Norton Masterclass – Session 4
The fourth session on the second day of Kaplan Norton Masterclass was Completing the loop: Monitoring, Adapting and Sustaining your Strategy execution system.
Main points:
- Most items on a strategy map can’t be measured that often so you don’t need to talk about strategy monthly. Quarterly seems to be the accepted interval, but that also has it’s short comings and only coming together once every three months it’s hard to keep all the board members on one page. Would recommend meeting monthly, but only tackling some strategy map details quarterly.
- “A good Scorecard contains a maximum of 25 measures”.
- “Red warning on a Scorecard has drastically changed over the past years, starting to be viewed as an opportunity to better yourself instead of a tragedy.”
