On high performance with Mark Foster at HR Summit and Expo 2014
The Mega Session “Inspiring High Performance” was offered, on the third day of the HR Summit and Expo 2014, by the world swimming champion and record holder Mark Foster.
The swimmer begun his presentation by emphasizing the one aspect that all champions have in common, namely the desire to be the best at what they are doing, the strongly belief they are able to attain excellence and their competitive spirit.
In Mark Foster’s opinion, excellent outcomes can only result from the conjunction of experience and reaction. Based on experience, you can define what you want to achieve, what are your desired outcomes and, taking these into consideration, you have to take action, to ”react” in order to achieve these outcomes.
According to Mark Foster, in sports the body is not the only asset needed. For success, people need the right coach, a good team, an excellent focus, as well as a perfect coordination between mind and body. Another key point that Foster mentioned was the power of failure, by emphasizing that he had learned more from his failures than from his successes.
