Strategy Leaders Forum 2014

In the context of strategy selection, Jeanne-Marie Bowman, the Group Head of Talent at Al-Futtaim in the United Arab Emirates, has delivered a presentation about ‘Identifying, recruiting and retaining key capabilities and embedding a performance culture to deliver strategic aspirations’.

The presentation focused on the following aspects:

  • The company’s history;
  • Al-Futtaim’s growth strategy;
  • Growth strategy enablers.

Al-Futtaim was founded in 1930 and it is currently present in more than 100 countries, having more than 40,000 employees. In the next 5 years Al-Futtaim wants to double the size of the organization. The challenge is to achieve its growth targets through:

  • Creating a high performance culture;
  • Working towards a set of shared values;
  • Attracting and retaining the best talent;
  • Supporting people to grow to their full potential.

Jeanne-Marie Bowman presented the goal for each of the 4 aspects of the growth strategy: talent brand, work levels, leadership competencies and talent framework.
